Meet the Wedding Party

Anne and Melody have known each other thanks to Melody’s joining the CBM fellowship in 2005, but did not grow close until Mel’s angsty high school years and when the two realized that life can be all shades of ugly. Melody needed Anne and Anne needed Melody and He made this friendship beautiful. By their late teen years, Anne had practically become the second daughter of the Loo family. At the Loo house, Anne and Melody stretched out on the floor and participated in the ritual smearing of smashed avocados on their faces for the sake of beautification and where Melody loves to bake and Anne loves to eat what Melody bakes, specifically banana bread. [May Alastair eat enough banana bread for the both of us]. Anne is glad to have shared as many happy, laughing, and crying moments with Melody as she could. They have gone through good times (sleepovers and youth conferences) and bad times (daddy longlegs infested wooden bathrooms), been to countries together (JUST KIDDING, just Canada), and have had many late night talks... during which Melody always falls asleep first. Alastair refers to Anne’s hair as the “Lion’s Mane,” but for their wedding, Anne is willing to tame it. She is looking forward to being part of this union and to stand by Melody as she finally becomes Mrs. Leung.
David has known Alastair since he came over with his loafers to university in 2007. Over the years their relationship has blossomed from a tiny sprout to a gigantic tree. Their brothership has gone through mountain tops to ocean depths but remains constant like the rhythm of the beat of their chests.
Jason has known Alastair for pretty much his entire life. Legend has it that they shared the same crib together during Sunday meetings in the nursery room. Alastair has been a second brother to Jason since then and the two have spent much time growing up together. Jason has also had the opportunity to know Melody through summer conferences for many years, usually serving together as back-up pianists for each other. In short, Jason is thrilled to see the Lord bring Alastair and Melody together.
Emily is Melody's cousin who currently attends the University of Maryland at College Park. She is studying psychology with a minor in neuroscience. Growing up, Melody would be left at Emily's house for sleepovers. (And when her family got a pool, Melody would visit more often to sunbathe with Em). At the end of junior year, her and Melody went on a cruise together with their Aunt Lois and Uncle Ken where they bonded over taking "face pictures," which is affectionately known now as the "selfie." Through the blistering hot weather and long walks, they visited the Eiffel tower and explored Santorini together. When Emily isn't binge-watching TV shows, she enjoys playing with her pet rabbit, Jasper, reading, and playing the violin in her school's Gamer Orchestra.

THE MAIDS OF HONOR
Danielle, better known as Dani, is a true New Yorker with even truer Brazilian blood. She comes from a family of six which includes the newest addition, Kika, her Wheaton Terrier. She really likes making Brazilian cheese bread, singing and playing lots of different sports. She also champions in being New York's corniest citizen! {Just ask her sisters} She and the bride-to-be have been meeting together with the church at CBM for nearly ten years and like good wine and sisters, they have tastefully aged and have come to love Christ in each other -- even though everything else is so amusingly opposite. For example, when Dani's car breaks down on the highway, she laughs, and Melody panics. Or when Melody wants to listen to Chris Tomlin, Dani would do anything to hear NeedToBreathe. Alas, at the end of the day, Dani is the one to remove glass stuck in Melody's foot and Melody is the one to tell Dani she has toilet paper hanging from her pants... May the future hold more comical stories for the two to be. Cheers.

Peiying Jiang is one of those crazy architecture students who stays in studio all day and night, the kind who falls asleep on her floor plans while hugging her models. She has gone to the same fellowship and known Melody since the age of 13! From all the meetings and events of youth group to the fightings of settlements in board games (ahem, Settlers) at the Loo's, from helping Melody move between several houses to even attending the same high school for one year, Peiying is qualified to say that she has seen all sides of Melody in all settings. Upon serving the youth group together, the Lord has truly brought the two girls close with a sisterly bond in Christ. Peiying is glad that she could witness yet another Melody’s life time moment as her bridesmaid.

Tiffany met the bride in the summer of 2009 when she came to Toronto for a conference, where the two immediately hit it off - mostly from Grounders... in the rain and because Melody always fit perfectly in her shoulders! She's also known Alastair her whole life and has grown up seeing Alastair become the man he is today. Throughout the years, Melody and Tiffany have gotten to know each other more from their late night chats, especially whenever Melody comes to stay with Tiffany in Toronto, where they feast at midnight.

Jeffrey and Alastair have known each other since forever. They became bros as they grew together in their church fellowship. They even had their 15 minutes of fame through their duet on the church piano, where they became YOUTUBE STARS... sort of. (Shoutout to their 2000 viewers... though more than half is probably just them two replaying the video). From their weekly impromptu piano/guitar jamming sessions, learning to signal each other the "number two" sign, to being abruptly awoken by the sounds of a thundering "GOLIATH ONLINE," and sharing the manly art of shoe shining; Jeffrey and Alastair have always done stuff together. They have grown together as brothers to the point where sometimes all they need is a nod of the head to understand each other. Thank God that Melody and Alastair, the two love the Lord and are willing to serve Him. Cheers!

Timothy - also known as the taller brother of Melody - feels like he has known Melody his whole life. He feels that they have a pretty strong connection and that they understand each other very well. He can't help but think as though they have the same blood flowing through us. (It must be from the tmes when Timothy would tie his hair like Melody did-- up in a ponytail!) He knows Alistair because he's a giant purple Minotaur. (Kidding, Kidding - he and ALASTAIR actually met at the Toronto fellowship). He's going to be a great brother in law and he bets that they are going to get along just fine! Welcome to the family!

Michael has known Alastair since childhood. From discussing Starcraft during Sunday potlucks to playing Warhammer in a cramped room with laptops balanced on nightstand tables, the two have shared fond memories. But growing up, they have also shared in the fellowship of Christ. Michael has recently discovered how hard Alastair kicks in his sleep. Watch out Melody!
